Pharmacokinetics is of crucial importance to those seeking to fully understand the therapeutic dynamics of essential oils. Pharmacokinetics is how the body interacts with essential oil components and how these compounds are metabolized and excreted from the body. It is a vital aspect of aromatherapy and can enable practitioners to maximize the effects of their treatments.  Pathology is really adapted physiology. The body is incredibly smart and we can choose to learn how the body works in health and dis-ease so that we may better strategize our treatment approach. In this class, we will cover three organ systems in detail – the Respiratory, Dermatological, and Genitourinary Systems. For each, we will highlight specific diseases addressing pertinent pathophysiology and pharmacokinetics. We will discuss aromatic treatments, dosing, and relevant interfaces, as well as explore other natural medicine integrations.
