Nursing Homes are the second most regulated industry in the nation and there is a serious shortage of funding for these communities. Yet with these challenges, Brookside Inn Skilled Nursing Facility has been successful in providing Complementary Medicine options to both residents and staff. This teleconference will discuss financial concerns, legal due diligence, Federal Regulations and Survey issues as well as the personalized account of Brookside Inn's journey into complementary and alternative medicine. Pertinent information provided for organizations that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding.
Meet Sarah Schumann
Sarah Schumann, MDiv, is the Vice President of Operations at Brookside Inn, a Sk8illed Nursing Facility in Castle Rock, Colorado. In addition to her 12 years of long term care experience, Sarah is a meditation instructor and interfaith chaplain. Sarah has obtained a a Master of Divinity degree from Naropa University and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College. Sarah has a passion for alternative health. She has studied with Zen, Yoga and Tantric Masters and is trained in Japanese acupressure, essential oils, and energy work. She is a current black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a Registered Yoga Instructor; she teaches both staff and residents on a weekly basis. Sarah loves comedy, singing and dancing; she performs monthly with a Vaudeville Troop at Brookside Inn.
