Completion of a minimum of the 200-hour Professional Level curriculum from an AIA recognized school will provide the educational requirement to sit for the Aromatherapy Registration Council’s registration examination.

Aromahead Institute offers a 235-hour and 400-hour Aromatherapy Certification Program designed to meet both the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) requirements, respectively. Additionally the Institute offers a 5-day Teacher Training Program, a Business Class, and several Advanced Workshops in Essential Oil Chemistry and Medicinal Blending. All Aromahead Institute classes are taught on line.

All classes provide an in-depth exploration into the art and science of essential oil therapies. Andrea Butje is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Provider. In additional, all programs are approved in New york and Florida for CEU’s in Massage Therapy.

Essence of Thyme College of Holistic Studies™ is a branch of Essence of Thyme Ltd. which was incorporated in 1996.  Essence of Thyme College of Holistic Studies offers a 600 hour Aromatherapy Certification Course through correspondence. Colleen Thompson has been involved in the instruction of non-certified aromatherapy courses since 1996 through colleges, her aromatherapy stores and local community centres.

In 2012 Colleen completed the final draft of her Aromatherapy Certification Course and her extensive experience in retail and wholesale aromatherapy products, product formulation, aromatherapy instruction as well as holistic spa services are reflected in the course material. Holistic Care Professional School (2015)

Holistic Care Professional School (HPS) is the only school offering a two-year clinical aromatherapist course recognized by AIA as a Level Three in Japan. A one-year professional aromatherapist course is also available. HPS is a contact point for the M technique® practitioner and instructor certification in Japan. HPS offers other advanced courses such as a Reflexologist course. HPS gives lectures in many medical institutions, nursing colleges and medical schools to promote understanding about correct and safe clinical aromatherapy.

The West Coast Institute of Aromatherapy’s flexible home study programs allow students to choose how far they wish to progress with their studies. Aromatherapy 101 (170 hour program) is where everyone starts. Those wishing to become Professional Aromatherapists continue with Aromatherapy 201 (440 hours program). The Full Professional Program (Aromatherapy 101 and 201) is 610 hours and graduates are eligible to join the AIA as Clinical Members.
