Laraine Pounds is a nurse, educator, and pioneer in clinical aromatherapy whose career has focused on integrating holistic healing into healthcare. Trained in nursing and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, she began exploring essential oils in the 1970s through massage therapy and natural fragrance creation, later deepening her understanding of aromatics through experiences in Japan and advanced aromatherapy training. In 1990, she became a co-founder of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), helping establish educational standards and advance professional practice in the field. Throughout her career, she developed integrative aromatherapy programs for hospitals, hospice and palliative care, psychiatric settings, and long-term care facilities, and co-directed a nationally endorsed 325-hour Integrative Aromatherapy® Certification Program for healthcare professionals. In 2006, she also co-founded the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA), helping establish clinical standards that strengthened aromatherapy’s credibility within healthcare. Now retired from formal teaching, Laraine continues to explore aromatherapy for personal wellness and creative expression, integrating it with massage and sound healing while encouraging lifelong learning, collaboration, and evidence-informed practice.

Jodi Kelsey is a retired Air Force logistics officer, educator, consultant, formulator, and founder of 3Js Pure Botanicals. Since 2013, she has focused on plant-based healing to support a more natural lifestyle, specializing in botanical skincare crafted with essential oils, herbs, and hydrosols. She holds MS degrees in Aromatherapy and Herbal Medicine from the American College of Healthcare Sciences and has trained with the Aromatic Wisdom Institute, the School for Aromatic Studies, the Herbal Academy, Kami McBride, and Susan Parker. Jodi combines science, tradition, and creativity to teach and advocate for the therapeutic power of plants.
