Rhiannon Harris is an experienced aromatherapist, educator and author. She is also editor of the International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy and co-director of Essential Oil Resource Consultants: providers of research, education and information in the field of essential oils. Based in Provence, France, Rhiannon travels internationally to teach and hosts advanced clinical aromatherapy study programs in the mountains near her home.
Using Essential Oils in Cancer and Palliative Care Environments
Rhiannon has been instrumental in the establishment of effective clinical aromatherapy interventions in hospices and hospitals in the United Kingdom since 2003. This presentation gives an overview of the potentials of clinical aromatherapy in cancer and palliative care. Focusing on improving quality of life issues, Rhiannon will explore using essential oils for a range of clinical challenges including malodor, respiratory distress, pain, nausea, infection and skin breakdown.

Originally from Indiana, Pam has practiced trauma, psychiatric, cardiac, oncology and woman’s health nursing. After completing her clinical aromatherapy program in the US, she studied advanced aromatherapy and graduate complementary therapies for two years in England. She has spent nearly a decade immersed in Clinical Aromatherapy focusing her energies mainly in women and family healthcare in private practice, hospitals and as a consultant with Wellspring pharmacy in Indianapolis.
Aromatic Childbirth - the journey of developing a Clinical Aromatherapy maternity program in a large Midwest hospital
The journey of Aromatic Childbirth started in England as Pam practicing aromatherapy alongside Denise Tiran in a prenatal clinic and labour unit envisioned the day she would return home to Indiana and create aromatherapy programs based on the practice and research of her English colleagues. The process and challenges of educating healthcare professionals, developing curriculum, designing a hospital maternity aromatherapy program will be explored. The data from the first year of the program as well as case studies will be shared.

Marza, educated in Allopathic Medicine, spent years working in Hospitals, Clinics and Heath Administration until she was called from her Native Roots to explore “Alternative” Medicine. The “Alternative Medicine” studies included Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Clinical Herbal Studies, Flower Essences, Shamanic and Vibrational Medicine. Marza now works as the Flower Essence Services Marketing Director and National Educator.

Dr Raphael d’Angelo, a holistic family physician in medical practice since 1976, is the immediate past president of AIA, past president of Aromatics In Action, served as a regional director for NAHA, and has brought medical aromatherapy concepts to doctors, nurses, holistic healers and the public through his courses, lectures and seminars. Dr d’Angelo is a graduate of the aromatherapy program of the Australasian College of Health Sciences. He continues to research the effective use of essential oils on infectious diseases.

Lunch Talk: Treating Infections with Essential Oils: AromaTab™ – A Novel Approach
In February, 2008 a chance happening blossomed into a new and exciting way of delivering internal antimicrobial essential oils first to the immune system and then to the rest of the body bypassing the liver. This has opened up a whole new aspect of treating many different infections without reliance upon prescription antibiotics for the benefit of patients as young as five and as old as eighty-four. oils for 20 years in private practice and is the owner and
founder of Scents & Scentsibility, Ltd.. She is certified
in clinical aromatherapy with Dr. Jane Buckle and is a member
of the AMTA. She has used essential oils at the 1996 Olympic
Games in Atlanta, the US World Cup and the Goodwill Games
in 1992 in Seattle. Debbie is an experienced aromatherapy
educator and has lectured extensively on the subject in the
US and abroad. She spends her time writing, teaching and traveling
and brings much experience to the AIA board.
