About the Conference |

The Alliance of International Aromatherapists invites you to their 3rd Biennial International Aromatherapy Conference and Wellness Expo to be held September 29-October 3, 2011 at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest, in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
With the theme, The Future of Aromatics in Integrative Healthcare, AIA is hosting an array of industry leaders who will be presenting on a variety of topics including the use of aromatherapy in clinical setting, spa, personal care and other integrative therapies, as well as aromatherapy research and natural perfumery.
The conference will also focus on some core basics of aromatherapy including the impact of essential oils on the human body, chemistry, the limbic brain and psychoneuroimmunology. There will be a lecture to discuss some of the major business pitfalls facing natural health care providers and aromatherapists in particular, as well as an educational retreat offering of daily aromatic yoga. This conference is a part of the AIA’s mission to unite aromatherapists from around the world in an effort to advance research and professionalism within the aromatherapy industry and to provide public education through scientific research and educational programs; and our goal to bring conventional medicine and natural therapies, with emphasis on professional aromatherapy, into a more harmonious relationship.

Benefits of Attending and Conference Information

Contact Hours:
Attendees may receive up to 30 contact hours* for fully attending the conference. 18.25 for conference, 1.25 in bonus lectures, and 10.5 for pre- and post-conference workshops (separate registration required).

Target Audience:
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for this conference have been designed to meet the educational needs of aromatherapists and integrative heath care providers looking to add other applications/techniques of aromatherapy, and complementary therapies, to their existing practice.

Program Overview:
The purpose of this conference is to discuss current research, to provide an opportunity to learn from others who have created and integrated aromatherapy programs into mainstream medical and palliative care environments, to discuss the use of essential oils in other integrative practices, and to develop additional skills to create a well-rounded and sound business practice. This conference presents opportunities to share our experiences and discover new ways to enrich our practice, teaching and research.

After fully attending this conference, participants should be able to:

- Learn new techniques and skills to enhance your practice.

Successful completion requirements:
In order to receive CPDs for educational activities at this conference, participants must:
- Register for the conference
- Be present for the sessions no later than 5 minutes after the starting time.
- Remain in session until the scheduled ending time.
- Complete and return the evaluation forms at the conclusion of the conference.
- Have pre- and post-conference workshop form signed by the presenter and return to AIA office.

Cancellation Policy:
Refund requests must be made in writing and received no later than August 15, 2011. Refunds are subject to a 10% Administration Fee. Refund requests received between August 16 and September 15, 2011 will be refunded less $200 and a 10% Administration Fee of the total originally paid. Only Pre- and Post-Conference workshop fees may be refunded after September 15, 2011. |
| Other registration change requests that require credit/debit card processing or other bank fees are subject to a 10% processing fee on the transaction amount with a $5 minimum fee. |
Attendee Terms and Conditions:
Indemnification: The AIA reserves the right to refuse conference registration if the AIA determines that the registrant would detract from the goals and/or security of the conference. The AIA reserves the right to request a person attending the conference, leave the conference if the AIA determines that the registrant detracts from the goals and/or security of the conference.
Professional Conduct: The registrant agrees to conduct his/herself in a cordial manner. The AIA will not tolerate any registrant who creates a disturbance; is disrespectful to any member of AIA, its speakers and attendees, exhibitors, volunteers or hotel staff. The AIA reserves the right to investigate any complaint and to dismiss any registrant found in violation of the Code of Professional Conduct, without refund of registration fees.
