Robert Tisserand
Following 10 years of practice as a therapist, Robert wrote the first book on aromatherapy in English in 1977. He has spent many years serving on committees and advisory boards, teaching and giving presentations. He tracks all the published essential oil research, and his most recent publication is Essential Oil Safety.

 

Tim Blakley
Tim has been involved in the herb and aromatherapy business for nearly 30 years. He was a teacher and part owner of the California School of Herbal Studies, creator of the Frontier Herb Co-op Botanical Garden, land manager and educator for Herb Pharm, founding manager of the National Center for the Preservation of Medicinal Herbs, educator for Frontier and Aura Cacia and the author of 'Medicinal Herbs in the Garden, Field and Marketplace'. He lives peacefully on 21 acres in Hawaii and travels extensively as the aromatherapist for Aura Cacia.

 

Nancy d'Angelo, CA
Nancy d'Angelo is a clinical aromatherapists, and an essential oils formulator and blending expert. She owns and operates Julia Rose Botanicals, LLC, and provides expert essential oils guidance and education for those in the community and in the aromatherapy industry.

Raphael d'Angelo, MD, NMD, MT
Raphael J. d'Angelo, M.D. is a holistic family physician and naturopath who integrates essential oil therapy in the care of his patients at the Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. He completed his aromatherapy training from the Australian College of Health Sciences and studied with the Emerson College of Herbology in Canada. Dr. d'Angelo has taught medical aromatherapy to medical doctor candidates for the American Board of Holistic Medicine of which he is a charter diplomat. He has lectured on various aromatherapy topics all over the country and teaches a basic and advanced course in aromatic medicine. Dr. d'Angelo has done research on the effects of essential oils on pathogenic bacteria. He currently holds the position of president of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.

Jackie Farnell, LMT
Jackie has been a Certified Aromatherapist and licensed massage therapist since 1995.
She and her husband Stuart own Farnell Clinic, LLC which is a Therapeutic Massage and Aromatherapy Clinic in Aiken, SC.

Jackie created aromatherapy blends and protocol for Alzheimer patients in 2001, now used in over 400 nursing homes. This program won the "best practice award" from SC nursing home regulators in 2003. She has consulted with two universities on controlled studies with 200 Alzheimer patients and is a contributor to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid web site, Sharing Innovations in Quality. She is currently working with a neurologist at The Medical College of Georgia using aromatherapy for Parkinson's patients.

Debbie Freund, RN
Debbie Freund RN has been using essential oils for 20 years in private practice and is the owner and founder of Scents & Scentsibility, Ltd.. She is certified in clinical aromatherapy with Dr. Jane Buckle and is a member of the AMTA. She has used essential oils the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , the US World Cup and the Goodwill Games in 1992 in Seattle. Debbie is an experienced aromatherapy educator and has lectured extensively on the subject in the US and abroad.

Debby Hamilton, MD, MSPH
Dr. Debby Hamilton is a Pediatrician with an extensive background and Board Certification in Pediatrics, Nutrition and Holistic Medicine and a Masters of Science degree in Public Health (MSPH). She began her career as a general Pediatrician in private practice and then went on to specialty fellowship training in Pediatric nutrition at the Children’s Hospital in Denver. Throughout this time, she received training and certification in Holistic Medicine and certification as a Medical Aromatherapist. She has also been trained as a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) practitioner. Currently she runs Holistic Pediatric Consulting; a pediatric practice in Boulder, Colorado that offers personalized and comprehensive health care for children.

Peter Holmes, LAc, MH
Peter Holmes is a medical herbalist and clinical aromatherapist. He originally apprenticed for two years with Cantonese master herbalist Dr. Lee in London, England, graduated from the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in 1980 and completed herbal medicine training at the College of Consultant Herbalists in England. Peter apprenticed in London for two years with medical herbalist Christopher Hedley, MNIMH, and with pharmacist-herbalist Henri Verdier in Paris, France, who trained him in the clinical uses of essential oils.

Peter researches, writes and lectures extensively in the field of Western and Oriental herbal medicine and clinical aromatherapy. He directs Snow Lotus Seminars which presents clinical aromatherapy and botanical medicine courses to health professionals across the country. Since 1995 Peter has given lectures and workshops at aromatherapy and herbal medicine conferences in the UK, Australia and Taiwan, as well as in the USA.

Jennifer Jefferies, ND
Jennifer Jefferies is one of Australia’s best-known authors and speakers and she has a prescription for modern living. Her powerful message is of work, life and balance.

Jennifer is a qualified Aromatherapist and naturopath, but better than that, she’s also a real person who has travelled the road to corporate burnout where she decided to change her life and help others to learn what she did about the importance and benefits of living a life in balance by integrating aromatherapy into their lives. Larry Jones
Larry Jones, co-owner of Elizabeth Van Buren Aromatherapy and founder of Spectrix Analytical, has over 30 years experience in the chemical industry, including Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical and the University of California, Santa Cruz Chemistry Board. At UCSC, Larry ran the central research lab specializing Mass Spec and NMR. In 1991 Larry joined his wife, Elizabeth Jones, at Elizabeth Van Buren, Inc., acquired a GC/MS and established Spectrix Analytical. Spectrix is now one of the few labs in the world dedicated to essential oil, flavor and fragrance analysis. Linda-Anne is an Internationally trained Beauty Therapist, Clinical Aromatherapist and holistic Health Practitioner, and Lymphedema Therapist with over 25 years in the industry. Cynthia Loving, LMBT
Cynthia Loving is an international instructor of Aromatherapy, a Cranial-Sacral Therapist and a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist with a private practice in Greensboro, NC. She was first introduced to aromatherapy in the mid 1980's and started her studies of essential oils with numerous teachers in the early 90's and has been teaching this modality since 1995. Cynthia serves as an Aromatherapy educator and consultant to individuals, businesses, medical schools, medical facilities, educators and spiritual leaders. Krishna Madappa
Krishna Madappa is a Holistic Consultant, educator, clinician, researcher, storyteller, shaman and Ayurvedic specialist based in Taos, New Mexico. He is an advisor to The International Union of Medical & Applied Bioelectrogaphy and is an active member of the “International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine.”

Daniel Pénoël, MD
Dr.Pénoël is an internationally renowned physician and researcher who has dedicated his three-decade career to the therapeutic use of essential oils. He is highly respected in the medical world for his rigorous approach to teaching, clinical work and research.

Dr. Pénoëll received his M.D. degree in France from Paris University , Faculty of Medicine, in 1976. After graduation until 1984, he opened and ran a busy general practice in the vicinity of Paris. In 1985, Dr Penoel immigrated to Australia due to an invitation to carry out research on the aromatic flora specific to this continent. His research and teaching enabled him to establish the medical orientation for the use of essential oils in medical treatments throughout Australia. Through his pioneering work the Australian company, Australian Botanical Products in Melbourne was able to be launched. Dr. Pénoël returned to France in 1987 in order to resume his intensive clinical research and practice of aromatic medicine.

 

Rodney Schwan
Rodney Schwan is a Clinical massage therapist and Esthetician licensed since 1989, who received aromatherapy foundation training from Victoria Edwards and advanced aromatherapy training and certification from Valerie Worwoods Aroma Genera Diploma Course. Rodney assisted in the launching of Tisserand Aromatherapy in the USA, and founded the Aromatherapy Program at San Diego Hospice in 1996; his responsibilities include material and pharmacy management, education (Institute of Palliative Medicine), research, and patient care treatment and planning. Rodney is an international lecturer and consultant for Children's Hospital and UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, California. Sonja Simpson, RN, MSN, AHN-BC, IAC
Sonja has had a very eclectic nursing professional career. The major part of her career has been in leadership/administrative positions. Sonya is certified in Integrative Aromatherapy and is the immediate past president of the American Holistic Nurses Association. She has had extensive experience in successfully bringing about organizational transformation. These positions have been in hospitals and medical centers as well as professional organizations.

Sonya’s approach has been to look at the organization from a systems and holistic point of view. Sonya has also served in a consultant role both for accrediting bodies like JCAHO and CHAP as well as her own consulting company. For the past twelve years Sonja has moved totally to the healing environment working with professional organizations, health ministry with faith based groups and professional organizations such as the American Holistic Nurses Association.


Sharon Tessier MA, CMT, IAC
Sharon Tessier is a visiting professor at Metropolitan State College of Denver where she teaches in the Holistic Health and Wellness Program. She obtained her Master of Arts in Holistic Health Education in 1997 and is certified in Massage, Touch for Health, Reiki, and Aromatherapy. She has been involved with integrated therapeutic practices for over 15 years and is the founder of Guided Wellness, providing private consultation in a variety of healing modalities.
