A Guide To Following The Aromatherapy Evidence Base With Prenatal-Postpartum Women with Pam Conrad

The webinar will focus on the importance of following the evidence base using or recommending aromatherapy/essential oils and methods with the prenatal/pregnant, intrapartum/laboring and postpartum/after delivery woman.

Pam Conrad, a nurse for 30 years (Level 1 trauma, psych, Women’s Health) and a certified clinical aromatherapist for 20 years. She spent 2 years in the UK and France studying advanced aromatherapy with nurses, midwives and physicians focused on Women’s Health OB/GYN and oncology. She returned to the US, developed evidence based nursing aromatherapy curriculum, approved by American Holistic Nurses Association and in 2008 taught a group of 15 nurses OB aromatherapy and developed the first in the US OB hospital nursing aromatherapy unit programs. She has taught nurses, midwives and doulas in over a dozen US states/ 30 hospitals and in Santiago Chile with over 30 midwives twice. Articles have been written about her aromatic Childbirth programs, Women’s Health aromatherapy, Surgery centers, her 5 year pharmacy CAM nurse aromatherapist on site consultant role in IJCA, IFPA, AHNA, Indy star and Positive Health.  She has presented her program data and research at many conferences in the US, UK, Ireland, Japan, Mexico and will be presenting at Botanica 2020 in Bled Slovenia!

In 2012 with an AIA grant, she conducted and published statistically significant positive results for Postpartum depression and anxiety with aromatherapy. In 2018, she was asked by a UK publisher to write a guidebook for nurses, midwives and those practicing aromatherapy with OB/GYN clients which has just been published and is available on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and globally at Book Depository.

Continuing Education

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit:
There are two ways to earn CPD credit for listening to teleseminar.

1. You may earn 1 CPD credit for listening to a live teleseminar. Instructions on how to earn the CPD credit will be given during the teleseminar.

2. You may earn 1 CPD credit by listening to an audio CD or MP3 of a teleseminar and submitting a 100-word summary of the teleseminar to AIA. Be sure to include your name, address, and title of teleseminar on your summary.  Each summary must be submitted on a separate document.
